Three-week climate tech launch strategy recognized for generating a 350% increase in weekly inbound leads and a spot on TIME’s Best Inventions list
Technica Communications was recently honored with an Award of Distinction in the 32nd Annual Communicator Awards for its Jetson Air, the cold-climate heat pump platform developed by Canadian home electrification company Jetson. The climate tech campaign generated coverage across national business, climate, and trade media, including Fast Company, CleanTechnica, pv Magazine, and BetaKit, reaching a total potential audience of 546,775,657 and generating more than $5M in advertising value equivalent (AVE).
Following the launch, Jetson reported a 350% increase in weekly inbound leads. The breadth of coverage also prompted TIME editors to select Jetson Air for the 2025 Best Inventions list in the Green Energy category without a formal submission from the company, a distinction that typically requires a direct application. Within two weeks of launch, AI query results carried the campaign’s core messaging, with 100% of cited articles originating from launch coverage. The campaign recognition reflects Technica’s continued work helping venture-backed climate tech and energy companies translate complex technologies into market credibility, investor visibility, and customer traction.
“Emerging technology companies often struggle not because the technology lacks value, but because the market lacks context for understanding it,” said Lisa Ann Pinkerton, founder and CEO of Technica Communications. “With Jetson, the goal was to help bridge that gap by building credible visibility around a category that is becoming increasingly important to homeowners, investors, and the broader energy transition conversation.”
Jetson partnered with Technica ahead of the September 2025 launch of Jetson Air as the company expanded its presence across North America. With a compressed launch timeline and limited brand recognition in the HVAC sector, the campaign focused on establishing Jetson’s credibility with media, homeowners, and investors by positioning Jetson Air within the broader electrification conversation. Technica’s deep reporter relationships in the climate tech space enabled the team to secure an exclusive with Canary Media and 13 embargo requests ahead of launch, setting the stage for coordinated coverage on day one.
The campaign’s strategic execution and measurable business impact ultimately contributed to its recognition by the Communicator Awards.
“We are in an era of information and content overload. Breaking through requires the right message, medium, and moment,” said Josh Campbell, General Manager of the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts. “This season’s winners got it exactly right. We’re honored to spotlight the work that was truly Well Said.”
The Communicator Awards is one of the largest programs recognizing excellence in marketing and communications, with more than 3,000 entries reviewed this year by a jury of over 1,100 industry leaders. The program is sanctioned and reviewed by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts (AIVA), an invitation-only body of industry leaders from organizations including JPMorgan Chase & Co., FedEx, Netflix, National Geographic Society, and The Andy Warhol Museum.
