A Transmission Company, or TRANSCO, is in charge of building and maintaining energy corridors, managing transmission towers, and coordinating power distribution to wholesale customers like industries and utilities. They also oversee the energy grid in their regions and may be involved in the wholesale energy market. As of 2023, many of these tasks are handled by independent system operators.
