BATTERY ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS (BESS)

Equipment, management and control systems that allow receiving energy from the grid or other resources such as a wind turbine or solar panel and storing it in batteries for later injection back to the grid or off-grid use. Electric vehicle charging stations are not considered BESS unless the interface between the vehicle battery and the grid is enabled for injecting electric energy.
