THE COMPANY

Founded in 2007, Tigo Energy is a publicly traded international corporation. It supplies solar and energy solutions worldwide, including module-level power electronics, energy storage, and software designed to improve solar system performance, safety, and return on investment.

THE CHALLENGE

Tigo Energy partnered with Technica Communications in 2021 to strengthen its visibility and differentiate its technology in a competitive and commoditized solar market. The company needed to clearly communicate the value of its growing portfolio to installers, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) companies, partners, and other industry audiences.

Over the next five years, that challenge evolved as the business matured. Tigo entered new markets, expanded its product portfolio, navigated solar industry volatility, and went public. Each stage brought new audiences, priorities, and communications needs. Along this journey, Tigo needed to maintain credibility with its core technical audiences while adapting to its expanding business and evolving market position.

THE STRATEGY

Technica developed an integrated communications program designed to evolve alongside Tigo’s business, something that was missing from the company’s marketing initiatives.  Rather than treating each product launch, market expansion, or corporate milestone as an isolated announcement, Technica connected Tigo’s news to broader industry conversations to make it more relevant to the market. This included linking its developments to active media conversations about solar system performance, safety, energy storage, and software-enabled energy management.

As Tigo’s portfolio and priorities expanded, Technica worked closely with the company’s team to develop messaging and campaigns that reinforced its market positioning. Over five years, the agency supported announcements spanning solar-plus-storage, rapid shutdown technology, inverter solutions, software innovation, international deployments, and corporate milestones. Technica also helped shape messaging for initiatives such as Tigo Quality Standards (TQS), which evolved into a broader company philosophy around quality.

The approach balanced technical credibility with broader market storytelling. For installers, EPCs, and solar trade audiences, Technica emphasized product performance, system reliability, safety, and real-world installation value. As Tigo grew, the agency adapted its communications to reflect the company’s expanding portfolio, market presence, and corporate priorities.

Through ongoing collaboration and consistent media engagement, Technica became a closely integrated extension of Tigo’s communications team. This continuity allowed the agency to build on its understanding of Tigo’s technology, audiences, and business objectives while supporting the company through changing market conditions and its transition to the public markets.

THE RESULTS

Across 108 release campaigns and counting, Technica’s PR program for Tigo has generated 16,248 earned media hits and more than 7.5 billion in potential audience reach to date (2026). Tigo earned recurring coverage in publications including Solar Power World, PV Magazine, North American Clean Energy, Solar Builder, CleanTechnica, PV Tech, and POWER. This coverage kept the company visible among installers, EPCs, customers, partners, investors, and other industry stakeholders.

Beyond earned media, the partnership supported communications initiatives that became part of Tigo’s broader corporate identity, including TQS. Technica’s continued involvement also provided consistency as the company expanded its business, went public, and navigated changing solar market conditions.

Five years after the engagement began, Technica continues to serve as Tigo’s communications partner, demonstrating the value of a long-term PR program that can adapt to changing business priorities while sustaining industry visibility.
